From Conception to Completion
The pen may be mightier than the sword when it comes to literature, but not when you're trying to make your event come to life and all you have are a few notes scribbled on a piece of paper. But that's where we come in! Golden Dog will take your hieroglyphics, reinterpret them and translate our collective ideas into corporate magic.
Here is just one example of how we can take any event from initial conception to brilliant completion.
- Client: New Brunswick Population Growth Secretariat
- Event: 2009 National Job Fair, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
- Objective: To attract attendees to spend more time in the New Brunswick pavilion, with the ultimate end goal of having them consider moving to New Brunswick to work and live
We were asked by the New Brunswick Population Growth Secretariat to create a space which would be evocative of a down-home Maritime kitchen party. So we designed and built an actual traditional-style Maritime kitchen, complete with painted cupboards, wooden stools and a vintage throw rug. We included a working fridge, stove and sink to serve hot cups of New Brunswick-produced tea, coffee and ginger snaps; and for additional flavour, we had a New Brunswick tourism reel on loop, while music by New Brunswick artists played in the background.
Over a two-day period, over 7,000 cups of tea and coffee were served and sipped, resulting in longer "pop-in-for-a-visit" stays in the Secretariat's 20' x 20' booth. We also designed the booth to be broken down into a 10'x10' space, so the client would be able to reuse a smaller version of the set. This will certainly come in handy, since the Secretariat was so happy with the success of the event, they have already decided to take the kitchen party on the road!
